The Sweetest Thing

I have been searching for some inspiration for Juliana's baby shower. She told me she wanted a garden shabby chic baby shower theme. I knew exactly what she was going for but still needed something to give me inspiration to start planning and designing. This is the perfect season to have a garden theme baby shower since it's spring/easter. The stores are selling plenty of things in pastel colors. I wanted something girly but not all pink since it will be a coed baby shower.

After several trips to Michaels and looking for inspiration. I found it!
Lots of floral and chevron prints which gives it that garden feel yet modern touch.

These are the prints I tore out to make the banner, food tents, and straw flags.

Now that I found a color theme. I needed to find other items that would be in a garden. Michael's was having a sale on Ashland home goods so I figured it was a perfect opportunity to snatch up a bird cage for the dessert table. It would add great height and I could put it on a drink pedestal that I have from pottery barn. I am going to add flowers inside of the bird cage on the day of the shower. I also found this teal mini frame at Michael's in their fun finds section to put maybe a picture of the baby's sonogram or a picture of Juliana or Rigo from when they were a baby.

I was still searching for more inspiration and revisited Juliana's baby shower board. I clicked on one o the pins and it took me to a hostess with the mostess birdie baby shower event. I loved the idea of the bubbly bar and decided to replicate that.

It was meant to be, because after making the sign for the bubbly bar. I went to Costco and randomly found these beautiful glass beverage container/servers perfect to put the orange juice and cranberry juice.

I was thinking of having the bubbly bar set up like this and having those clear plastic champagne glasses set up next to it.

Some more ideas I have for the baby shower:

I would also like to have a appetizer/drink table. I think it would be great to have some fruit displayed on tiered serve ware and then drink dispensers with fruit water and iced tea then displayed with mason jars with the striped straws with flags.

Juliana showed me a picture that was an inspiration for her for the baby shower. It was outside and a long table with a light pink chevron runner. The picture was taken from a far so I could not tell what was hanging from what looked like an outdoor lattice. After searching the web for the origin of that picture. I was able to find it and got a close it. What is hanging is bouquets of flowers hanging upside down from the lattice. I'm not sure if the location where Juliana is having the baby shower has an outdoor lattice or anywhere for us to hang things. But I'm thinking a more cost effective way to do something like that is to cut out birds from my cricut machine and hang those.

More to come...

Welcome Baby Sophia Rose

I have been asked to be apart of some wonderful celebrations this year.

The first one being our good friend Mari's baby shower. It is a Mickey/Minnie themed baby shower. Her sister will be throwing the baby shower but I have the honor of helping with the dessert table.

This is a close up of the banner:

The banner all put together.

I made these little signs for each table.

All the serve ware for the goodies.

This is just a preview. I can't wait to see it all put together. I will definitely be posting more pictures.

I added some finishing touches with the left over scrap from making the banner.

And here it is...

So happy with the way it turned out. Loved the yellow table cloth. Thank you Marisol for letting me practice my as you call it "secret talents" lol
